Sunday Crafting

My new ironing board holder.

Not sure why this photo is sideways, but you get the idea. My ironing board cover is also new this Sunday. I have been wanting to recover it for a few weeks now. Last Saturday I got Jeremy to pop in to Joann's with me after dinner. Overall I think it was a pretty painless visit.
I saw this idea on pinterest a couple months ago, painted t0he wood sticks 3 weeks ago and finally got around to printing the vinyl lettering today. I mounted the wood slats on the cupboard with 3M brand double sided adhesive that shouldn't damage the door if I ever decide to remove them.
I feel like I had a pretty productive Sunday morning. I even got a 6 mile run it this afternoon and we took T and B to see Chronicle this afternoon.

What I've been up to:

Nan and Pop bought me these stools for my craft room for Christmas last year. I've been wanting to cover them with cute fabric to match my curtains and my other chair in the room. I'm really happy with how they turned out.

Lately I have been making coffee cozy's with extra fabric that I have lying around. This one is made with the fabric from my new curtains and a couple of cute ribbon flowers I learned how to make the other day.

I'm waiting for my curtain rod to dry right and I will post pics of the completed curtain later.

Mystery Canyon and Pine Creek

One of the first rappels in Pine Creek. It was a pretty cool rappel down a small crevice.
There was a little bit of scrambling to be done. I love these parts. This was a cool shot of Jeremy on a rappel above Marshal who was on the next rappel.
I loved this, we had to hand our bags below us while we did this free rappel. This was a fun one. I think it was about 70 feet. This had to have been the most intense part of Mystery. We had to clip in to a line that went across the rocks and then rappel down over 100'. I have to admit that I was a little intimidated by this one, but I felt a sense of empowerment when I finished it.So I went second and them Jeremy went. The mossy rocks on the cliff face are beautiful. This is the bottom of that intense rappel. If you were talented enough, you could get away without getting wet, but it turns out that we all got wet and a couple of us even got wet twice.Regan getting crazy on one of the many raps.
This was the last of approximately 12 rappels in Mystery Canyon. We came off of a waterfall into the Narrows. There were many onlookers as you can see.

I can't wait until next time!!!

My Beautiful Kitchen.

Imagine all the scrumptious goodies that will be popping out of here in the next few months.I've never had a fireplace...this should be fun.

A Sneak Peak

Here's a sneak peek into our Agnes Trip...

Marlee wanted to cross the River on her own, so she borrowed Mom's hip waders. She did a real good job.

Fish on POP

The Trek up to the lake. It is exactly 1.53 miles to the top, according to my GPS watch.

Mom and Me. I love this lady. I was so glad when they decided to come up with us. I don't think any amount of short notice was going to stop them from getting up to Agnes. Love you guys.

Cookin' Up some Dinner. We had Beef Stew and it was tasty.

Nice Fish Grandpa

Grandma's got one on too.

My Wine Theme Paint Can

I'm guess I'm just full of posts today. But I just had to show everyone what ACHEEPIE on the cricut MB made for me. I am such a lucky swapper. She put a lot of effort into the decoration on my can. Plus she sent me a special homemade treat.

Pics of the Race

Me coming in to the finish line.

Ready to get going.
I found my good friend JaNae and her sister and husband at the race. It was great to see some faces I knew. They all did really well. JaNae's husband was 11th overall. I wish I was that fast, but I don't think it's in the cards for me.

A Personal Record

These are my results from the Bridal Veil Falls 10 K this past Saturday, May 30.

13 Place among the Females
5 in my Age Division
Total Time - 00:52:03
Average Pace - 08:24

I'm super happy with these results. I definitely met my goal. Now I'm looking forward to the Riverwoods 10 mile Race on June 13. I'm well on my way to Hobblecreek Half, my second half marathon.

Paint Can Swap

Joysee from the cricut messageboard made me this lovely paint can. It was filled to the brim with scrapping goodies. Yeah!!! I can't wait to use everything. She sent the Twizzlers specifically for Terrence and I think I will give the Paint can to Jordin because it matches his bedroom.

Happy Anniversary to us....

Jeremy took me to Zion's National Park for our anniversary weekend. We stayed at Zion's Park Motel which was surprisingly reasonable in price and they had a pool. We had a great time just doing things at a slower pace than usual.
This pic was taken on our hike to Hidden Canyon. We went further than the normally advertised trail and could have gone much farther had we brought the rappeling equipment. Needless to say it was more than we anticipated. We did a lot of scrambling and navigating. There were even a few areas where hikers had left ropes or webbing to use to get over some of the larger boulders. This was SOOOOO fun!! Right up our alley.

This picture is under the waterfall at the Upper Emerald Pools. Of course we couldn't take the paved route to the top, we had to scale the mountain on our own path, but this brought its own benefits. We ran into two deer and got a couple pics of them.

After we had a chance to get back to the room and shower we were off to find a restaurant to eat our anniversary dinner. We rode the FREE shuttle up and down the main road to check out the menu at no less than 4 or 5 different restaurants. I was not going to pay $30.00/plate for a nice meal. So we kept on searching until we found somewhere with a price that was reasonable enough and I could enjoy my dinner.
Here is my oh so patient husband waiting for the shuttle to pick us up at stop #4 of the evening and bratty old me.
I love you babe, thanks for the wonderful weekend. I had such a great time with you.
